Something incredible happened the other day.
Katie has been sick for a week, with lots of congestion, sneezing, and cough, where she gets worse at night and has a hard time breathing — even with the medicine.
The other day she was having a particularly difficult time and Cristiana said to me, “Mama, I wish I were her and she was me.”
I asked her why.
She said, “cuz then she would not have to be sick.”
Wow, you want to talk about a teachable moment from an incredible heart. (And, a few tears held back by her Mama! I was floored to realize the depths of her heart!) I told her THAT is exactly what Jesus did for us. That is why He died on the cross for our sins, so that we would not have to suffer. That when we die, if we have accepted Him as our Savior, as she has (and is very vocal about that!), we will go to Heaven and all of our pain and sorrow will go away.
