Because Cristiana is so emphathetic and knew that she would cry when she heard Katie cry, she and Rod went out to the coffee shop to sit while I was with Katie in the store. The man cleaned Katie’s ears, and put the little mark on them to show where he would pierce them. He did the first ear, and of course, she did not like it. She cried a bit and resisted when we went to do the second ear. The first ear was centered perfect. The second one was WAY off. I was not happy but at that point did not want to do anything different.
Katie’s pain tolerance must be much higher than Cristiana’s . . . she was done crying before we left the store! Rod looked at me like, “Did you even get it done?” And we both laughed at how easy that one was.
The rest of the day it really bugged me that it was so off. Then in the middle of the night when I was feeding her, I thought, “Well, maybe I will just take it out and we can redo that one.”
I turned her to the other side to feed her, and behold . . . it was already out! I was so surprised, and thankful all at the same time, because it meant that I did not have to make that decision. I went to her crib and found both pieces under a burp rag.
“In one ear” . . .

. . . “and out the other”

(Don’t worry, we are going to get the other one done again here soon. There is no evidence that it was even done, so we will just get it to match . . . perfectly, I hope!)
