a sweet child’s prayer

Our nighttime routine that we have for Cristiana is one that gives her lots of security, I have found. It starts at 7.00pm with a bath (that usually last a half hour -- she is like her cousin Dalton who could spend HOURS in the water!), and ends at 8.00pm with a Bible story, a song, and a prayer.

Last night when we were praying, I prayed for the safety of us all: Daddy as he was away still, Mama and the baby as we slept, and for Cristiana and her dreams as she slept. (We pray every night for her to have good dreams, as she has very realistic ones like both Rod and I do.) Anyway, in the middle of the prayer, when I said “the baby”, she whispered over to me and said, “Sally”. It was so cute, we both giggled.

Today, then when I needed to go into the hospital to get my Anti-D (RhoGAM) shot, because my blood type is AB- and Rod’s is A+, she prayed that Jesus would not let it hurt badly. I love to hear her prayers, they are so heart felt and meaningful.

And, so wonderfully child-like.
