surgery was successful

Cristiana and I ended up coming back to the States three weeks earlier than Rod, for a very specific reason. Since we have been struggling with this secondary infertility, and knew that my left fallopian tube was blocked, we decided to go ahead and have the surgery that would fix it. I had laproscopic surgery in April. My fallopian tube is so badly blocked and adhered to (stuck to) my bowel that the doctor could do nothing about it. He was unable to unblock it or remove it -- which were the only two options going into the surgery. Instead, option number three, which we never discussed, was leaving it just like it was. Well, that is exactly what happened. It is major abdominal surgery to remove it.

After the surgery, Mom was there with me and asked the doc what all he found. On the way home, and again later that evening once I was a little more awake, she told me what all had happened. She also said that they doc found a growth on my left ovary. He removed that and was sending it into the lab for a pathology report. Well, I felt completely defeated after that. Knowing that I had gone in under the knife and come out exactly as I had when I went in.

Two weeks later I went back to the doc for the post-op appointment. The doc showed me photos of the fallopian tube -- UGH! Then, he showed me photos of the growth that he removed. Then, and here is the good part, he said that the growth had been taken off the RIGHT ovary -- which was my good side. He said that my right ovary and my uterus were both in very good shape.

The next month . . . I got pregnant! Yes, it is true, we are expecting a little one in February. The same due date that Cristiana had! :-) I guess we do well with out anniversary -- since they are both anniversary babies.
